liberator range and medivac boost: not good or just underused?

I know they are super high in the tech tree and sometimes we Terrans really only like to go for the low hanging fruit, but it seems to me that none of the pros are ever researching these upgrades. Liberator range on particular seems unbelievably good. I'm not saying rush for it, but if Protoss is rounding out his shield upgrades maybe Terran should go ahead and get those bad boys.
