#Fusion: The Journey (奇幻之旅)

##An Oriental Fantasy Web Novel

#[Volume 3 Chapter 70] (http://fusionthejourney.blogspot.com/2016/02/day-70.html)

Synopsis

Year 1272 AD, Zhongnan Mountains, China.

"終南山後, 活死人墓, 神雕俠侶, 絕跡江湖"

"Behind Mount Zhongnan lies the Tomb of the Living Dead, Let it be known that the Condor Hero Couple has retired from the Jianghu" - Inscriptions on a tombstone

Yang Deya, an intelligent and quick-witted girl, was brought up in a sheltered environment by her parents, Yang Guo and Xiaolongnü (Condor Hero Couple), far away from the chaotic turmoil that engulfed her country, the Song Empire of Ancient China. Father Yang Guo, who once singlehandedly warded off a Mongolian invasion by slaying the Khan, was a national hero who had earned the nickname "Condor Hero" or "Western Eccentric". Although Mother Xiaolongnü wished for Deya to grow up peacefully without being involved in any worldly troubles, fate had decided otherwise.

Chosen by a godly entity from another dimension, Deya would be thrusted into a new universe. A universe that would test her conventional knowledge. In this new world, humans shared the land with the elves, dwarves, orcs, goblins, nagas and other monsters. Use of magic in this world was common, so were engineered mechas and automatons. Although Thea was puzzled at first, it gradually became obvious through her adventures, that she was brought here for a reason.

Would she mature fast enough to survive in this new world?

Authors' Note

The story can be classified as a semi-adaption (or fan-original fiction) because we created the MC using the lore of a famous Chinese wuxia novel (Return of the Condor Heroes 神雕侠侣). The inspiration for this MC is our daughter - born into an Asian family but brought up in a western environment.

The writing style and storyline are influenced by mainstream fantasy literature, anime, manga and games. One can find elements of D&D, WoW, Dragon Age, Lord of the Rings, Final Fantasy, [Re: Monster] (http://re-monster.wikia.com/wiki/Re:Monster_Wiki), Duolou Dalu and Id within the story.

In a nutshell, this novel is like "Hidden Dragon Crouching Tiger" meets "Lords of the Rings". The chapters are written and updated in the form of daily entries.
