I just turned on Apocalypto on TV. It was playing with Spanish subtitles, and I don't speak Spanish.

I couldn't look away. It's a testament to the film that it can even be understood, let alone be gripping, without the benefit of full understanding of the dialogue. Just a great piece of film-making.
