LGBTQ women for study on workplace dresscode
An Assistant Professor at San Francisco State University is conducting research on LGBTQ women’s experiences with workplace attire and dress codes. She is interested in understanding if written or unwritten workplace dress codes negatively impact LGBTQ women’s experiences at work. She is looking to hear about experiences from women who:
• Self-identify as queer, bi-sexual, lesbian, gay, or transgender • Identify anywhere on the gender spectrum (genderqueer, agender, woman, androgynous, genderfluid, transgender, etc.) • Are “out” or would readily share their sexual identity with friends, family, and employer • Work in one of the following areas: business, finance, education k-12, community and social service, legal, office or administrative support, sales, marketing, or management • Are age 23 or higher
Participation in this research includes completing 1 interview that may last up to 2 hours, and 2nd interview that may last up to 15 minutes. In these interviews you will be asked about your experiences with clothing in the workplace. Your total time commitment will be up to 2 hours and 15 minutes. Interviews can take place in person, over the phone, or via skype/google hang out. If you or someone you know qualifies and is willing to talk about the project and being a possible participant, please email the researcher, Kelly Reddy-Best, at krb@sfsu.edu.
