Why did Rick almost kill himself after unity left him? Because he was sad, or because he knew the end was near? Why is Rick a dick to jerry? Because in mortys eyes, jerry is a failure. Why do Rick and Morty have compatible brainwaves? Because they the same person. Why is Rick protective of his Morty? Because, unlike the other ricks of the multiverse, he IS his Morty.
