Elective class is kicking my butt, advice/motivation?
So, yeah. It's Photography. I know it seems like the stupidest class to struggle in, but I really am having a hard time with it. I almost always spend 6+ hours a week working on it, which is time I really could use for other stuff in my life (taking 18 credits this semester, and I really need to catch up in physics).
The professor is really artsy and promotes "creativity" - I honestly don't know if I'm that creative based on stuff other people say and present in class. It's started me wondering if engineering really isn't right for me if I struggle to "think outside the box" just while taking pictures. We've also had our first critique and I have no clue what my grade is - and probably won't know until the final project, whatever that is. Truth be told, I'd really just prefer to drop the class, but it's late enough now that I'd have a W on my transcript, and I don't want to go that route since I already have one from 1st semester (dropped a program I was no longer interested in).
I guess I'm just struggling and wondering if anyone has any motivation or advice to keep me going. I'm planning on talking to a TA in a couple days and hopefully the prof himself to get any advice on my content and ideas, but there's a pretty decent chance that I won't be getting an A in this class, which seems weird for such an "easy" elective. I'm wondering at this point if it's just best focusing my efforts on other classes and aiming for a B in it, or striving to get an A...
I don't really know, I'm just ranting a little but it feels good to let it all out. Thanks reddit.
