Don't mess with nades...especially the RDG-5 (TIFU in DayZ)

Kinda a stupid story , but definitely helpful for newbies (like me). Hope the vets can get a laugh.

So basically, today I have played like 7-8 hours total, continuing my character I started last weekend, when I played like 3 hrs Friday and about 6hrs Saturday. I have learned a ton, largely thanks to this subreddit (shoutout to u/raipeh for being awesome). So went around, kinda scavenging ok gear, getting some gorka, backpacks, etc and eventually had the balls to go to Myshkino base. This was a server with about 14 people, and I witnessed an awesome battle between 3 guys, ended up killing the last guy and looked through my loot. Eventually decided on AKM with PSO-1 scope. Went back to Zelenogorsk and grabbed more food and found some more 9mm ammo. Took a break, ate some Taco Bell, and then went back to playing. Ran back to Myshkino, and found a ton more stuff. I ended up having pretty damn good gear, drum mag, like 120rd of ammo for AKM, suppressor, maxed plate carrier, ballistic helm, flashbangs, etc. After digging around a lot, I find a couple RDG-5 grenades. Me, being the experimental dumbass I am, decided to test it. Didn't know how nades are supposed to work, I pulled pin and sprinted away. Didn't actually know you had to hit G to drop the nade...and I blew up.

TL;DR - Blew my self up with a nade after spending >15hrs playing and getting solid gear because I didn't know how to use it.
