I'm being followed online?
A quick personal history. I became inactive over 20 years ago as a teen. Since then my relationship with the church has had its ups and downs as I'm sure anyone here. I try to never do anything drastic because my mother, while inactive herself, still believes. Generally if the church leaves me alone I'm OK.
Anyway, maybe I'm overreacting but here's what's happened recently. The other day I had a new follower on snap chat named "name Ward." I didn't identify it immediately as a place because I know some people with the last name Ward and all the ward names in my city have changed since I stopped paying attention. Slowly, after seeing some of their LDS based posts on their My Story page I realize it's not a person but a ward in my neighborhood.
Today I had a friend request from a random young woman. After checking her profile a bit (I haven't accepted her) it looks like she joined the church in the last year.
Now, maybe the two things aren't related but I'm beginning to panic a bit. Every five years or so I seem to become a project. I start getting calls from women in the relief society, missionaries are sent to my apartment (and they always ask for my ex-husband when they visit which isn't cool) and the bishop to my mother's ward even came over in a snow storm to try and figure me out.
Anyway, that's it. After writing it out this all seems pretty tame but I'm still upset and I'm afraid I'm becoming a project again. I'm a busy gal, I don't have time for this BS.
