I'm getting serious input lag when playing virtual console games.

I'm getting a great deal of input lag whenever I play virtual console games. Normal Wii U games have no lag, but the virtual console games are almost unplayable. I did some googling and nobody else seems to be having this issue. Does anyone know what could cause this?
