I almost came out, unfortunately.

Reason I decided not to hit send was because I valued the relationship I share with him more than political correctness (he said that if one of his close friends came out of the closet he would break ties with him, so naturally I argued with him about among other things). But I really fucking wanted to. I was just scared of a few things, mainly losing a friend, but also I was afraid he would off and tell everybody he knew. He's my coworker and goes to the same school as my sister, so it could have gone down in a way I wasn't ready for. I thankfully decided not to, because if I did I fear the consequences would have been too negative. I know what you're thinking at this point: if he would 'de-friend' you for coming out of the closet, then he isn't a true friend. Well, maybe that's true but I value him too much to care, and I think it would be unhealthy considering we work many hours together. Having any kind of stress or tension like that would be asking too much in this scenario, I think. That being said, I sent him an article more or less proving that sexuality isn't a choice, and was very, very tempted to follow it up with this, not only to give what I said more authority but also to finally come out to someone (which I didn't):

Also I'm bisexual and if it was a choice I would have chosen to be straight. It sucks to be bi in Texas because not only do people believe I don't exist, but they believe I deserve to go to hell. My parents would think I am deserving of Hell if I told them. There are those out there who choose to kill anyone who is even remotely homosexual or different, for no real reason other than "they aren't the same as I am." As soon as sexual orientation becomes a choice, you fucking tell me because I'm fucking sick of being scared out of my mind. I would choose to be straight in a heartbeat. Imagine how I fucking felt as a teenage christian boy when I found myself looking at more than just women. It drove me insane and I was absolutely ashamed - I wanted to fucking die. It was embarrassing to me and I only recently learned how to stop hating myself and accpet myself for who I am. Do you know how it feels to have people erase a part of my identity by saying "oh they're just fags" or "oh they made that choice so it's their fault if they get bullied, or killed, or harassed." To have people say that I don't exist, or that I don't matter? It fucking hurts, and it makes me feel worthless, like a piece of human garbage.

If sexuality becomes a choice, give me a fucking call and show me where to sign up. Because apparently God is capable of making mistakes.

Sorry for the long post, but I was wondering what you guys thought. Criticism of what I said is very welcome, as well. What do you think would have happened if I hit send?
