Help: Hedgehog keeps biting cuts

As the owner of the most terrified and hateful hedgie, I never see her nails until she cuts her chest (Its horrible and I hate it buts shes so stubborn). Usually I notice very early on and giver her a bath and cut them. Now, she has started biting the cuts and they aren't healing because she keeps agitating them. I might take her to the vet soon because its very loud when she does it and I don't want to risk an infection. Any advice?
