Does anyone else love how this show develops its characters?

I'm new to this subreddit but I've been here before and seen some posts!

Does anyone else adore how this show develops characters? For this show to be so hilarious and extremely over the top it always finds a way to make me care about them.

Like in Rick Potion No. 9 when Morty sees himself die and buries his body, which seems to have an affect on him in the rest of the series - or in the episode where Tiny Rick is made and, when turning him back to normal rick, he starts talking about being afraid of death and being old.

Then there's the obvious example of the final episode of season 2 when Rick turns himself in for the betterment of his family. I can't think of any other examples right now - feel free to post them in the comments - but I really just love how this show handles the insanity and development of its characters.
