6 month old puppy mill rescue. I am looking for pointers on dealing with timid behaviors/unsocialized dogs.

Can someone point me towards advice in training a timid dog? And anything I should watch for as we settle in the next few weeks? Our dogs are 12 and 3 and were trained from exuberant puppies. I included what little history I have on her.

Today I got a female mastador from a family. She had been rescued from a puppy mill after being attacked. She has a big scar on her muzzle and scarring on her neck. Her whole history kind of sucks. Had to give her a bath immediately, she was filthy and had a few ticks.

I see signs of a great dog in her, she wants love, she is not food aggressive, she is OK with me checking her all over for ticks. The family didn't have time or the inclination to work with her anymore. She has been socialized with kids and one pit bull.

The only time her tail has not been tucked today are when she met my six year old and my dogs. We let her meet the other dogs since she looked so excited, it was a good choice, she warmed up a lot afterwards.
