This isn't even fun anymore. I quit.
My friends and I all bought Rocket League on steam a couple months ago when it was on sale and, at least for a few weeks, we had a blast with it. Now I've leveled up to veteran just by sheer number of games played and it's become impossible for me to play again. Whenever I join a game, even in unranked mode, I get matched up with experts, masters, and even legends. And while everyone says the titles "don't matter", I've been consistently up against people who are so far above my skill level that it's impossible for me to even contribute to a match. That, and the community seems to get more and more hostile the deeper in you go.
Despite watching every tutorial on youtube, trying to study pro players on twitch, and resorting to every option I can think of, nothing sticks and I just get destroyed. And even though I keep losing, my MMR apparently never changes to accommodate that fact. The only time I ever get to have fun playing against people around my actual skill level is when my friends are all available to play in private matches.
It's really upsetting seeing how much I really, REALLY loved this game that I can't even enjoy it anymore. At least two other people I know have the exact same problem and we've all just been forced to quit entirely.
The only thing i can ask is that the developers find a way to match people up correctly. Obviously whatever they're doing simply isn't working accurately enough. As it is, it just makes a game where you play it until you hit a wall and then it's over.
