Driving a surface vehicle with keyboard\mouse - kinda shitty

Hi All,

Due to a couple of reasons I have not been able to invest in a joystick/thrust controller for Elite. I was able to get Horizons recently and gave planetary landing a try..... getting around the surface in the little buggy using the mouse and keyboard is harder than getting into Emma Wastson's nickers ?

Does anyone have any actual success driving with the keyboard or is a flight controller pretty much essential ?
