Feeding My Pre-Adult Dragon

My (female?) dragon is about 8 months old, and is about 13-14" long. I've been feeding her crickets as a staple, and no other insects. Apart from that, he/she gets vegetation.

Crickets are starting to get somewhat pricey, I'm buying 1000 every 2 weeks for $30, and I'd say almost half of them are dead by the time I run out. Given my current situation, budgeting is a large part of my lifestyle at the moment.

Anyway, crickets also weird me out, and I'm looking for other things to add to the diet so I can maybe start saving some money. I was looking into worms, but they seem to be expensive too.

So, can anybody guide me in the right direction as to what I can feed my dragon, and how many of what food and how many times per day? What would you consider the prime staple feeder, given my situation? If I get multiple food sources, what should I be feeding him/her every what day? Like, crickets on day 1, worms on day 2 and 3, etc. I've tried researching, but I keep find conflicting information everywhere I go, especially on superworms.

Thank you!
