Alcohol question/ alcohol doesn't work why?

My was tbm till yesterday husband tried drinking tonight. I'm not home but he said he had 3 shots of tequila, 2 shots of whiskey and 2 cup of rumchata in an hr. I just talked to him on the phone and he's completely sober. It's been 2 hrs and it had no effect in him. He's about 210 lbs and never drank before... Shouldn't he be wasted? ( he was obviously trying to be wasted- and I don't recommend doing what he did)
