Only 12 unicorns, and none rare. Are there any more under-appreciated magical creatures in magic?

So a local shop is doing a paper pauper league with bonuses for themed decks. I bought a faerie deck for my gf and she was thrilled. She asked about a unicorn deck so I looked them up. There are only 12 cards with subtype unicorn. Thinking "maybe because unicorns are rarely spotted" but then I realized there are no rare or mr unicorns. The common unicorns are too weak with odd and non synergistic abilities and don't make a very good pauper deck. It made me wonder are there anymore magical creatures that don't have a big enough magic presence?

side note a unicorn that stops opponent's creature's abilities from doing damage would have been a great siege rhino stopper. But its too late for that.
