Just purchased an x220. How do i update the BIOS to a BIOS Whitelist

Hi, i purchased an x220t a couple days ago and i really liked it but ive been wanting a non tablet version for the extended battery life and docking so i just bought that.

I bought mine off ebay. It came with 16gb of ram, 250gb msata, 320gb hard drive. I messaged the seller asking about the bios and he said he never installed the whitelist and said he hasnt updated it the bios. He installed a Corsair Vengeance 16gb 1.5v with the 1.19 version bios and currently its 1.39.

Should i update the bios or leave it as it is? I'd like to update it but i don't know how to install the whitelist. I tried with my last laptop but decided to just leave it because i didnt want to brick it on accident and i was already planning on getting the normal version. I'm going to be running windows 10.

Side question, he said he installed a better bluetooth module and applied artic MX-2 Thermoal compund to the processor and heatsink. Is that something i should be concerned about?
