How to practice Troy Stetina's Speed Mechanics for Lead Guitar?

I had started with Troy Stetina's Speed Mechanics for Lead Guitar book, but after a while I found the book overwhelming and stopped using it. On most threads I've read that it is the best book to get your lead guitar chops in place.

Can anyone suggest me how should I practice the book? Thanks a lot!
