Balance Dance vs. Life
Not sure if a dance forum is exactly the best place to ask (we're probably all dance fanatics), but how do you balance your dance obsession with life? It's probably harder for me because I have a muscle disorder that takes a lot out of me, and an out of town relationship that takes time/energy. I find myself wanting to go to All The Dances, and often overextending myself or neglecting other responsibilities in the process. When I think about cutting back, I get bummed. I can't figure out what exactly gives me that "high" in dancing I seek so much. Is it the joy of success? The art of a good dance? The social interaction and connection? What makes you go to dance, and have you found a substitute for it when you can't?
