How to detect power lines in images? (using (fully) convnets, or other algos)

I am a researcher trying to automate power line inspection with drones. Think of the drone flying above power lines. How would you detect these thin lines, in clutter (trees, vegetation, road lanes, can all be confusing). I think of breaking the problem into background clutter removal and then line detection. Or you could also have an end-to-end solution, predicting pixel which belong to power lines labels themselves
