Windows install freezes at first pixel on Windows is starting screen + BIOS trouble.

I'll preface this by saying we have a amd phenom ii x6 1090t and GTX 580.

My brother gave my girlfriend a new computer over the weekend, but sadly it has not worked at all and he is not of much help, so I turn to here to see if we can become a bit wiser to the issues.

First of all, it seems the SSD is having trouble being detected. Nothing shows up in the BIOS as master, but if we go into the SATA settings stuff we do find it under Sata port 2 (no other port works, we tried changing the cables but then it is simply not detected at all). When we boot up the computer it just asks for a boot device which is fine since it has no OS on it, but it then freezes.

So, we have a windows 7 disc, and it freezes at the very first pixel of the wheel showing up after the Windows is loading files screen. Every single time, the very first pixel, freeze. So we tried to make a USB install incase it was the disc drive, same error.

We tried switching RAM, taking out all but one, trying each one at one at a time, freeze on the first pixel at Windows is starting. Never fails, always the same.

So at this point we are at a loss and the brother who built it is not responsive and says tough luck computers are unpredictable. We aren't very tech savvy so we aren't getting very far on our own.
