Is The Division and Rainbow Six: Siege connected?

Hello everyone! I was just thinking about how Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege and The Division could be connected. If you think about it, R6's storyline (albeit very miniscule) seems to be connected with The Division's, with the start of R6 showing the leader of Team Rainbow explaining that there is a new breed of terrorists who love to use chemical and biological warfare just for the sake of creating chaos. This springs the R6 team into action where they begin training to take these terrorists out (which is the multiplayer cause that "blood" can't be real blood). And as most of you know main focal point of the upcoming game "The Division" is that a deadly virus has spread through New York creating chaos due to chemical warfare. What are your thoughts on this? Is "The Division" proof that Team Rainbow failed their mission?
