Noob seeking guidance

After seeing Tron as a teenager, all I wanted was the motorcycle from that movie for years. Now that I'm in my 20s with an income, I want to actually buy it.

I've never ridden a motorcycle before. Is that model practical for a first timer (Sportclassic 1000 sport, I believe)?

Also, they seem incredibly hard to find. I know they have been discontinued. Any tips where the best place to find one used is, besides the obvious (craigslist, eBay)?
