Blender Support?

I know there's Maya and 3dsmax plugins to export assets to LY compatible formats, but is there a work-around or manual way to export Blender models? I'm having a hell of a time trying to run Autodesk products due to lack of UI scaling for my 4k monitor (I literally have my face 6" from the screen) and also I'd like to just be able to keep it an entirely open source workflow as well.

EDIT:

After doing some more research, I believe there is a plugin that will work to export from Blender to Lumberyard. Its kind of complicated and not all that well documented but here's the links. It looks like you can export to all the file formats that you can with the Autodesk plugins so this is definitely a good start. Also the devs of the plugin originally made it for the CryEngine and they are active and aware of Lumberyard. It sounds like they could be motivated to work on it since LY doesn't have all the barriers to entry that the CryEngine did. If you're a Blender novice, keep in mind you need to enable the CryBlend addon in File->User Preferences->Addons-> (SEARCH: cryengine). Link to "CryBlend" will appear in top right of menu ribbon ( http://imgur.com/rT8OYjm ).

EDIT: I talked to the author of the plugin and its not quite working yet. If you tried the plugin and the above method, it won't actually save a .cgf file. HOWEVER there is a working method of importing FBX files but it doesn't handle anything too fancy.

WORKING METHOD TO IMPORT FBX ASSETS:

"You can import only rigid meshes (no geometric animation, no characters, skins or skeleton animations) ... Here there is a video from James Brady showing how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eg2neHvbfpQ
