Hey you stoners... whats the rule on beer? Bad experiences in the past... trying to be safe!

I have always been a drinker and have always had alcohol in my life. Love hate relationship. Anyways recently I started needing pot for medical issues so I smoke every night now! Well I wanted a few beers (usually drink 18+ only having 6~ tonight) but dont want to experience that sick dizzy hell I used to when smoking weed while drunk as a kid. I just wanna smoke a little bud and drink a little beer. Is there a way you guys do this and manage not to get the spins and throw up?
