I sorta need some advice...

So I've always wanted to cut my hair short into a bob for about 2 months or so but I never exactly told my parents until about two weeks ago. Since they have been really busy we haven't been able to cut it but little did I know that my friend wanted to do it too. The thing is... I didn't tell her I wanted my hair the same way. She got it done a couple days ago and right after my parents told me that I can get it done tomorrow... should I just get a completly different hair cut even though I really wanted a bob or get it anyway even though it would look like I am copying her?
