The purple/yellow line in the GPS keeps flickering and I can't seem to fix it.

As the title says, the purple/yellow line for the GPS keeps flickering on and off rapidly. It makes driving extremely difficult as I have to divert attention for a longer time than I usually have to, meaning I crash more often that I should.
So far, I've tried to:

• Validate integrity of game cache (through steam)
• Change the settings, like MSAA, Shader quality, and everything else to see if they affect it in anyway (it doesn't)
• Reinstalling GTAV

I'm not sure what's causing this, but it's been bothering me for a long time (about a month). Any and all help is appreciated, thanks.
