Starting a new play through. Any tips for better immersion and realism this time?

Beat game with the institute and was a bit underwhelmed. Game is amazing, but I am looking for a more prolonged story. Any tips would be welcomed. Also, I'm on pc so any mods for immersion you guys know of would be cool too.
