First build for fvp need help with esc

Im new to this type of build how can I tell if I need to remove the red wires on three of my esc for my quad and how can I tell if Its a switched bec the esc's I have are brushless simonk 12a bec 5v/1A 2.4 lipo 5-12nimh like I said im new to this build and dont want to mess it up
