Doubt about the epitaph of Stevinus.
So we know how Stevinus proved that the weights on either side of a right triangle have to be equal, because if they weren't, there would be perpetual motion. But what if we deliberately designed our triangle in such a way that one side is heavier than the other-say, in a three-four-five triangle, 3 1lb. weights on one side and 5 10lb. weights on the other side? The weights will surely roll towards one side now, so would this cause perpetual motion or something?
