[Arg] calling the number , a question?

Hey friends so I've only tried texting the number before. Tonight I decided to call for the first time. So it gave me the music ya know as usual, then it beeps (like voicemail) which is when I guess we leave the transcript or however. but then it started ringing? Is this normal? What happens after the ringing? I hung up cuz I got scared it was my phone jacking up and calling a random phone number (it's a not so great phone lately) I just wanted to know if this was normal and if after ringing it just goes back to the music?
