Is there a HID Joystick library/example for Arduino UNO?

So I've been trying to use some old arcade controls I have as a fight stick for my PC games. I first tried just using some of the arduinos I had lying around as a HID Keyboard but it didn't work great. I figured there must be an HID firmware I could load. And I did find a few but I had no idea how to customize them (I only need 10-12 buttons) or how to tie them to the inputs on my controls. The example sketches I found didn't really help me that much. Appreciate any help or advice.

I also know a Teensy would be ideal. I'll probably get one but I'd like to use what I have first before I invest more money into this.
