Should I Withdraw from CS 246?

Advice

Hey guys, longtime lurker here. Finally making an account for this post.

I'm a 2A CS student, taking CS 246 right now. After the first 2 assignments its clear this course is just too much for me, I only got 52% on the first assignment and the second one is looking about the same, maybe a bit worse (due tomorrow, spent ~35 hours on it so far). I've always taken a bit longer with my assignments but in the past that has worked out fine, now I'm not so sure.

Should I drop this course? Are the assignments supposed to be this difficult? They won't release assignment averages so I have no idea if I'm doing terrible in comparison to my classmates or if, at the moment, this is just par for the course. Apparently on the first assignment half the class didn't even submit the last question, so I'd like to think I wasn't the only person who found it beyond my skill. I know as a CS major I should do well in this class but the assignments are just so difficult I'm not sure if I'm cut out for CS.

For reference, I got a low 90 in both CS 135 and 136, and I've also had a great internship as a software developer so far. So should I really be getting so thoroughly routed by this course? Is it worth withdrawing from and trying again after my next my upcoming internship this summer? I don't really care for grades that much so passing the course with something like a 60 isn't that big a deal to me, but at this point I'm not even confident I'll be able to pass the course at all. Really unsure if its worth withdrawing from or not.

Sorry if this post is a bit incoherent, thanks for any advice anyone can give on this.

Edit: It has become pretty obvious to me that I'm not working 'smart' enough, and I can already see some things wrong with my work habits now that I'm being realistic with myself. Thanks to everyone who posted, it helped to vent out my frustrations with the course, so I'm not gonna WD from the course. Never give up, never surrender!
