Idea for seasons in a future development.
I'm sure someone has brought this up before, but I was talking to my brother about this when we were playing multiplayer earlier. I thought the addition of seasons to the game would bring about a whole new level of horror in itself. Imagine you're enjoying a nice day of gathering resources, those filthy savages were nowhere to be seen and for once in the game you're at peace. Then you spot something in the corner of your screen. "You are wet and cold. Build a fire to get dry." But it's not raining, nor is it night time. What could it be? Then suddenly a feeling of dread washes over you as the words of the House of Stark echo in your head. "Winter is coming. " You need to prepare. In the next few days, animals become scarce, leaves become even scarcer, and the days get shorter and shorter, allowing perfect chances for the savage people to strike. Snow falls heavily, substantially lowering visibility, leaving you open for ambush. Do you dare brave what lies in the caverns until Winter is over? Do you have enough food and supplies? Or will mother nature be the one who brings about your demise this time? After the Winter thaw, Spring comes along, bringing torrential rain and terrifyingly loud thunder with it. The days are dark and stormy, and you begin to regret ever wishing for rain when you were low on water. And if that's not enough, some of the more deadly water dwellers move further inland. Then comes the dry days of summer, for many days you experience a horrible draught, forcing you to drink the filthy pond water. However the days are long and it gives you ample time to stock up for another cruel Winter.
Anyways, that's my spiel. If this is already somewhat implemented or has already been talked about, I'm truly sorry. If not, (which I doubt) I just thought it would be a cool addition to an already fantastically amazing game. Thanks for reading my nonsense.
