Overheating and start up issues

Hey guys. I have a 94 325i. It started off with me driving her for maybe 15 to 20 minutes and after sitting for a few minutes it cranks but won't start till after its been sitting for awhile. Now, its overheating and still not starting up right. Any ideas?

Edit - I forgot to mention that the overheating does temporarily go away when accelerating. Goes higher the longer the car sits.
