Stupid Question about ShapeShift

This may not be the right place to post this, but I am hoping other ETH holders and traders might be able to clue me in on this.

Is there any reason why ShapeShift doesn't provide its trades to the market? Seems to me, there would be a lot of interest as to what is being traded for what and how much of each... Information that traders could use - and info that would periodically get people rushing over to SS to jump in on trending currencies and price action (so good for them too).

I for one would love to know, for example, how many trades (and what volume of trades) were being done for BTC <--> ETH at any given time and in the past. Might help to spot waves before they break...
