Anyone else grow up cruising?
My first exposure to boats was on my aunt and uncle's 38 Caliber, which in turn inspired my parents to buy their own sailboat (a Catalina 30, of course). After doing their research about the Catalina's cruising limitations, my family upgraded to a Nauticat 35 pilothouse sloop. Talk about an upgrade! Unfortunately we sold her a few years ago, and have regretted it ever since. Luckily, my folks are looking to buy a new Nauticat, and I am searching through thick and thin to find my first yacht to sail away into the sunset. At 22 it certainly won't be anything magnanimous, but I still hope to find a suitable long distance cruiser/live aboard.
Would love to hear about your experiences on the water as a kid. Need young adult sailing pals. - JR3
