Megagong Fishing Strategy

After spending HOURS fishing in each biome, I think I've finally come up with a more efficient fishing strategy for getting the Megagong. All the other guides I've found seem to instruct you to just run around and find fishing holes, but that got annoying pretty fast. A whole lot of running time and not a lot of fishing time. So here is the strategy I came up with to speed things up!

Step 1: Have the Epic Gulanti with you. He gives you the 150% treasure hunting boost. Every little bit helps.

Step 2: Seed as many fishing holes as possible in each biome around your home teleporter. It's most efficient to place them in adjacent blocks of 3x3- it'll come in handy later.

Savannah: Fish Food (Fishiminea)

Bawg: Acidic Fish Food (Centrifuge)

Tundra: Frozen Fish Food (Tumbler)

Step 3: Find a fishing bait stone in each biome and mark it on your map. The closer to a teleporter, the better.

Step 4: Craft fishing bombs. A TON of fishing bombs. I used the Chembobber (Centrifuge) the most- it is the easiest to craft, and works in the Bawg and Savannah. For the Tundra, you will need Fish Magnets (Tumbler). Fishing bombs explode 9 adjacent fishing holes at a time. So make some potted pyns. Mark on your map areas that are particularly dense with Satgats and Slurbs. Enemies respawn in the same areas for the most part.

So now! Once you have everything all together- your Gulanti, your fishing holes, your fishing bait stone, your bombs- you're ready to fish your heart out!

The Strategy! Grab the fishing bait buff. Warp home to your fishing holes. Throw your bomb in the middle of a 3x3 square of them, and bam- tons of loot.

Once you've harvested all your fishing holes, quit the game. Luckily Crashlands runs on system time. So change your computer's time to two hours ahead. Load back into the game, and voila! All your fishing holes should be respawned.

Repeat the process ad nauseam until you get the Megagong. And then enjoy it, because you've earned it!

Good luck and happy fishing!
