In the process of rolling over my 401k to Vanguard...not sure what to do next
I recently got a new job, and as a result, I now have an old 401k (about $30k) I would like to rollover into a Vanguard fund. I am currently in the process of doing this (actually getting the money into the account). Additionally, I also opened up a $5500 IRA because I realized that this is essentially my last chance to open an IRA since my new job puts me over the income limit. While last year I did not hit that income limit, I certainly will going forward.
Anyway, I now have $5500 sitting in an IRA fund unallocated and soon the same will be said of my 401k. Vanguard sent me some literature about what I should invest in, but I'm not really sure where to start. All I know is that I just want to invest in funds with low maintenance costs and essentially forget about it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
