Single player campaigns broken?

I'm just wondering if all the balance patches have changed how things work in single player, because I'm having a ridiculously hard time with the first naval battle in Bear vs Dragon.

Their ships seem to just wreck mine, and then they spam fighters to destroy the rest, no matter what I do. I even hid until I could call in 6 of my anti ship planes at once, and then called in all 6 at once to target one of their ships and watched as they shot down every single missile my planes shot, and then two of my planes. And then called in 3 of their planes to sink 2 of my ludas at once.

I'm pretty new to the game, but I managed to get through the entire first campaign (busan pocket) with only a little difficulty, and then I can't even beat the first map on the second one.

I even tried following a walkthrough's advice, but it dosen't seem to work - if I leave a single luda at the command point, they call in jets to sink it almost immediately. Sometimes I don't even see the jets - it just disappears and says it was destroyed.

Also, I tried playing some skirmishes against the AI and I have no idea how anyone beats it, it has to cheat hardcore. It seems to always know where everything of mine is even if it's hidden, and seems to have near-unlimited funding for new units. I managed to win one game and I had single units with 30+ kills each.

Anyways, has anyone else's experinces been similar to mine with this? Is it just broken?

Are the DLC campaigns better? Or do I just really suck at the game?
