Quick question about PS4 not reading discs

My PS4 has never crapped out on me and ever since the last update every time I turn it on from Rest Mode (I'm aware it has its hiccups with the update) the machine won't read the disc where I last left it. So I'll close the application and wait a second and click on the game to start again but it says my discs can't be read and there's an error BUT if I pop the disc out and put it back in it'll always start no problem. I guess I'm asking is there a particular reason for this? Is it a bug from the last update or my ps4 possibly dying? Thanks guys.
