Pissed off by bad beat - I played it right; I think

Playing .01/.02 under the gun with 1.78 get 9h 9c and raise to .08. Folded to the button who 3bets to .24.

Flop comes 8c2d3c. I check and button bets out .32 and I call thinking is range is either an over pair of AK, AQ

Turns comes 9d giving me top set. I check. He shoves for my remaining 1.22 and obviously I insta call.

River is 5c and he has Kd Ks.

Obviously he is super pissed. If the turn doesn't give me a set i probably fold the turn but it gave me what I needed.

Value wise did I play it right?
