How come belts and pants both come in even measurements, wouldn't it be better if one was odd, to allow odd waisted folks to easily have better fitting pants?
A size 31 would wear a size 32 pants and a belt notched at 31, whereas a size 32 would wear the same pants with a belt notched at 33.
