flair:'lon' Pushing mod 80s GRs

Just probably venting more than anything but it seems like it gets worse and worse in terms of fishing and skipping elites. There are so many horrible sets of affixes that are killable but you waste so much time on them. I haven't really had to fish to get through 83, but 84 seems like another wall. I'm only paragon 902 so perhaps I'm missing out on a lot of extra str. I also only run solo, which means I'm not farming group xp either. I was hoping to basically call it quits after hitting 85, but it might be that 84 is going to be the stopping point.

I'm currently still using esoteric alternation because I like the damage reduction, but I do see people going full dps gems. I wonder if that's what I need to do, however I definitely want to fish even more trying to find soft mobs.

I hope at some point Bliz comes up with a good idea for going as high as you can go and not have fishing be a part of the game.

For those of you who are going higher, did you find the strategy totally changes from killing elites to killing trash and finding rifts that have several pylons and the right kind of pylon? Really anything but speed is great.
