MSBand 2 SDK gyroscope output

I'm working on an app that uses sensor input from the accelerometer and gyroscope. When the band is completely still, I'm getting stable readings on the accelerometer only to one decimal place, not great, but usable. For the gyro the readings are all over the place.

Is this a problem with my unit?

Is there a way to re-calibrate the gyro?
