A list of things to add to the Villagers
With 1.8 adding the ability for villagers to farm and share food and 1.9 being practically here I've come up with a list of some ideas to make villages much more interesting:
The Architect: A new villager profession that sells you building blocks and redstone items. When an architect has building blocks in its inventory (said block can be given by the player or other villagers) it is able build new building and paths to expand the village and its boundaries (probably using pre existing village blueprints).
The Miner: Another new village profession that sells your ores, mine carts, rails,TNT and pickaxes. This villager works much like how the farmers can harvest crops but miners will dig underground to find ores as well as setting up mines using wooden planks and iron to make braces, mine cart tracks and bridges. All the gather material such as ores and cobblestone are shared with architects and blacksmiths.
Farmers should be able to chop down trees, plant them and farm them for apples as well as share to wood with other villagers.
Farmers should be able to breed animals and kill them for meat to be given to butchers to cook.
Farmers should be able to fish for food.
Priests should be able to heal other wounded villagers using potions.
And lastely more different types of villages since we only have three kind of villages (plains, savanna and desert).
