A few ultra-low budget gaming parts lists

Discussion

I have an addiction, and I feel many others share it as well.

I make parts lists for rigs I have no intention of ever building. From reasonable moderate-budget PC's to insane Linus-tier wacky shit with phase-change cooled dual 16-core Xeons and 6-way SLI Titan X's and more RAM than most people have HDD space.

But, ever since i've joined the PCMR i've slowly converted each of my friends and built budget rigs for them. In total i've made 6 low-end gaming PC's, primarily for Source engine games and older or easier to run titles.

My qualification for gameable is able to max out TF2 at 1080p and exceed 60fps.

Here are a few of my low-end PC's with a variety of setups, ranging from the "How do I even afford electricity" at $250 to the "Student loan debt hasn't quite hit me yet" at $500.

$250, A8 APU with DDR3-2166 memory http://pcpartpicker.com/p/VBwLhM

$300, overclockable A8 APU with DDR3-2166 memory http://pcpartpicker.com/p/dDBXTW

$350, overclockable A10 APU with DDR3-2166 memory (This is roughly Xbox One performance) http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gmYvgs

$400, X4 860K and R7 360 2GB w/ 8GB RAM http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ng2vgs

$450, FX-6300 and R9 370 2GB w/ 8GB RAM http://pcpartpicker.com/p/m6Yvgs

$500, i3-4170 and R9 380 2GB w/ 8GB RAM http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gw946h

Bonus: The cheapest reasonable PC you can build today. Definitely not for gaming. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/t46G7P

Hopefully if you're in the market for a budget rig, these will help.
