Connector Identidication

I want to build a home automation system. The plan includes having a raspberry pi answering my doorbell for me. Now I really don't know what kind of connector it is and how I would approach controlling it.

Here are some images of the connector

It seems to be quite similar to a RJ45 port, but it is about half as wide and I doubt it's digital.
